Coils for MRI are like lenses for camera. They help to focus MRI energy into clear images during patient screening. However, there are no two identical patients, and the traditional design of coils can sometimes be functionally advantageous, but inconvenient for the patient. In the absence of comfortable conditions, the patient can move and this will cause poor quality of the image and, consequently, additional time spent on repeated scans.
